LEWISTON – With rain in the forecast, organizers of World Refugee Day have relocated the event indoors to The Dolard and Priscilla Gendron Franco Center at 46 Cedar St..
Organizers say all planned events will be indoors, with the exception of the soccer scrimmages.
The event will take place from 5 to 7:30 p.m.
The L-A World Refugee Day is part of a global event celebrating and honoring the struggles of the more than 15 million refugees worldwide. In addition to food, performances, games and music, this year’s celebration will include a job and resource fair and “Far from Home — A Refugee Simulation.” The simulation, devised by Catholic Charities of Maine, will give participants an interactive and dramatic experience of a refugee’s path to resettlement in America.
