OTISFIELD — The town will hold a Community Summer Celebration from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 8, at the Community Center on Route 121.
Town Clerk Sharon Matthews said the event is an “outgrowth” of the annual Otisfield Business Showcase where local businesses display their goods and services to residents. The showcases started in 2009.
Matthews said the Community Summer Celebration is aiming to invite food vendors and “individuals who have particular skills or hobbies they would like to demonstrate, such as fly tying or wood carving.”
It’s an “opportunity for local musicians to volunteer and entertain friends and neighbors,” she said
Other towns, such as Casco, Naples, Oxford, Norway, Paris and Harrison were invited to participate.
For more information about the celebration and showcase call the Town Office at 539-2664.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
