AUBURN — An 18-year-old Lewiston man was arrested and charged in the Sunday armed robbery of a Big Apple store.
Ali Abdi Mohamed was charged with robbery and held at Androscoggin County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail.
Police said a robbery was reported at the Big Apple store at 296 Main St. A man had entered the store shortly before 12:30 a.m. brandishing a knife. He fled the store with a small amount of cash.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
Police recovered the knife a short distance from the store.
Surveillance videos and field interviews conducted in the area of the store followed by further investigation by detectives led to Mohamed’s arrest, according to a police press release.
