PORTLAND – Marguerite H. Wight, 92, a former resident of Jillson Road, Greene, died Sunday, June 12, at the Barron Center, in Portland.
She was born March 16, 1913, in Wales, the daughter of Augustus and Estella (Vedetto) Ham. She was educated in the Wales and Kents Hill schools and graduated from Lewiston High School.
On Sept. 16, 1933, she married Fred Wight. He passed away in August of 1977. She was a housewife and lived in Greene all of her married life.
She was a member of the Greene Baptist Church, the Greene Senior Citizens and the Lakeside Chapter 60 Order of the Eastern Star and the Grange.
She enjoyed gardening and growing flowers. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her delight.
She is survived by a son-in-law, Franklin (Buck) Barclay, of Leeds; four granddaughters, Eva DeHaas and her husband, David, of Bar Harbor; Kelly Gagne and her companion, Nate Brown, of Limington; Beth Thorne and her husband, Craig, of Standish, and Heather Poirier and her husband, Dennis, of Rhode Island; four grandsons, Chip Barclay and his wife, Deanna, of Auburn, Chris Barclay and his wife, Lynn, of Colorado, Tim Barclay and his wife, Claire, of Auburn, and Ian Barclay and his wife, Bonnie, of Leeds; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Sandy Barclay; three brothers, Roger, Willard and Edmond Ham; a grandson, Anthony Barrieault; and a great-granddaughter, Kristina Witten.
