SOUTH PARIS — David Turner Gammon was born May 14, 1926, in Hartford, son of the late Harold Gammon and Edith DeCoster Gammon. David passed away July 25 at the Maine Veterans’ Home in South Paris, where he had made many friends and received excellent care.

David enlisted in the U.S. Army in World War II and was sent to Japan in 1944 while still a senior in Buckfield High School. When discharged from the Army, he did not leave Hartford again until he went to the Veterans’ Home. David was a lover of cattle and was a cattle dealer his entire life. He was a member of the American Legion Post 58 in Buckfield.

He was predeceased by a sister, June Davis.

David is survived by his sister, Mary Jones and her husband, Shirley; and several nieces and nephews.
