FARMINGTON — Franklin County commissioners will hold a public hearing Tuesday on the proposed discontinuance of winter maintenance on six roads in the unorganized territory.

It will begin at 10 a.m. Aug. 1 in the Franklin County Commissioners’ Office at the county courthouse.

Four of the roads are in Madrid Township and one each is in Freeman Township and Washington Township.

Commission Chairman Charles Webster of Farmington says the portions of the roads slated for discontinuance to winter maintenance are basically driveways.

The roads up for consideration are:

In Madrid Township: Huntington Road, intersection of Reeds Mills Road and Huntington Road to end (0.12 miles); Dodge Road, intersection of Rangeley Road and Dodge Road to end (0.04 miles); Schoolhouse Road, intersection of Reeds Mills Road and Schoolhouse Road to end (0.04 miles); and Buzzell Road, intersection of Reeds Mills Road and Buzzell Road to end (0.34 miles).

In Freeman Township: Curtis Road, intersection of Foster Hill Road and Curtis Road to end (0.12 miles).

In Washington Township: Marcy’s Lane, intersection of Weld Road and Marcy’s Lane to end (0.04 miles).
