LEWISTON — Elwin H. Sizeland, 92, of Auburn passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Sunday, July 30.
He was born in Auburn October 15, 1924, the son of Henry and Celia Leger Sizeland. He was married to the former Geraldine Briggs.
He was a cost accountant at the Bates Mill for his entire working career, retiring in 1987. He was able to enjoy his retirement with his wife of 65 years, spending many winters in Hawaii and Florida and summers playing golf at Poland Spring. His greatest joy was family gatherings, when they all could spend time together.
He will be loved and missed by his wife, Geraldine; a son, William Sizeland and his wife, Mary, of Newport, Rhode Island; three daughters, Sandra O’Connell and her husband, George, of Sabattus, Lisa Mailhot and her husband, Donald, of Auburn, and Jane Scotland and her husband, Richard, of Northborough, Mass. He was the proud grandfather of six grandchildren and three great-grandsons.
He was predeceased by a brother, Earl.
The family would like to thank the staff of 4 East at d’Youville Pavilion, where Elwin had resided for the past three years.
