BRUNSWICK — Florence “Flo” V. Bohunicky, age 82, a resident of Dionne Commons in Brunswick and formerly of Summer Street in Lisbon Falls, died Tuesday, Aug. 8 at Mid Coast Hospital with family at her side.
She was born in Lewiston on March 13, 1935, the only child of Alfred and Martha N. (Grover) Gauvin. Florence grew up in Lewiston and graduated from Lewiston High School in 1954. On June 19, 1954, she married Michael G. Bohunicky at St. Peter and Paul Church in Lewiston and together they settled in Lisbon Falls to raise their family.
Florence obtained her CNA license and worked several years in the health care industry serving as both a CNA and an activities director for local nursing homes in the Lisbon, Freeport and Brunswick area, until her retirement. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), an active participant in the Bible studies at the Lisbon United Methodist Church and was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Lisbon Falls.
Florence leaves behind two sons, Mark Bohunicky (Patti) of Augusta and Paul Bohunicky (Kristen) of Delmar, N.Y.; and four granddaughters, Gerry, Tracey, Kendra and Karli.
She was predeceased by her parents and her husband.
