DEAR SUN SPOTS: What would we do without you? You help so many people. I need to find the contact information for obtaining the national parks senior pass for $10 before it goes up to $80 at the end of the month. I bet there are others who would relish this information also. Thanks again for your wonderful work.

ANSWER: U.S. citizens and permanent residents 62 years or older are eligible for the Lifetime Senior Pass. It can be purchased at all federal recreation sites for just $10 or you can obtain it online for an extra $10 processing fee at https://store.usgs.gov/senior-pass. $20 is still a bargain, but you’ll have to hurry! All requests need to be made by August 28th. On the website, you’ll find everything you need to know about how to obtain your pass and all the amazing benefits you’ll have! This is the first time this fee has increased since 1994. If you need more information, you can also contact someone to help you at fedrecpass@usgs.gov or at 1-888-275-8747.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: About a month ago someone from Lisbon was looking for craft material for their group. I recycle my Sun Journals to a disabled vet and cannot look back. Would you please provide me with the name and number of who was looking for such items? Thank you.

—Doreen, Hartford

ANSWER: Oh dear! Mrs. Sun Spots searched high and low for that column but couldn’t find it, so it seems you’re not the only one who lost that phone number and information. It appears I need to do a better job with my files! Does anyone remember the Lisbon group that was looking for craft materials? Help!
