At 7:30 p.m., this Saturday, Aug 26., the Denmark Arts Center welcomes acoustic musician Carlos Olmeda. Olmeda is known as a songwriter’s songwriter. He is also known as a mockingbird, a tri-cultural artist, and a very dynamic performer in the tradition of the coffeehouse and acoustic alternative songwriting styles of the ’60s ’70s and ’80s. Born in Puerto Rico and raised in San Diego, California, Olmeda has infused his passionate style of songwriting and performance with a true love of storytelling and imagery. Fans are always treated to a multicultural rollercoaster ride of melody, rhythm and heartfelt emotion. Olmeda loves to come home to his multicultural roots, and yet, he has no fear of taking his listeners to new-and -exciting musical destinations. The suggested donation is $15 per person.
