AUBURN — Climate trends in Maine is the topic of a program Thursday, Sept. 7, at the Auburn Public Library.
The hourlong presentation begins at 6 p.m. in the Androscoggin Community Room.
Nikki Becker, a scientist with the National Weather Service in Gray, and Marty Gagnon, adult services manager at the library, are the facilitators. Participants will be asked to read parts of “The Thinking Person’s Guide to Climate Change” by Robert Henson. Copies may be picked up at the second-floor desk when participants register for the program.
The monthly series is funded by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the National Science Foundation and continues Oct. 5 and Nov. 9.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
