LEWISTON – Garth B. Bowie, 67, of 136 Hogan Road., Lewiston, died Saturday, Feb. 12, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center, following a brief illness.
Born in Lewiston, on Dec. 28, 1937, he was the son of Carroll and Verna Dearborn Bowie.
He was educated in Auburn schools. He was employed for 22 years, by Rock Maple Wood Heel, of Lewiston, and then for 28 years, by Pioneer Plastics, of Auburn, retiring in 1999.
On Sept. 5, 1960, he was married to the former Murielle Lemay in Saints Peter and Paul Church.
Besides his wife of Lewiston, survivors include a son, Dr. Mark Bowie, and wife, Nancy, of Salisbury Beach, Mass.; a sister, Jacqueline Sawyer, of Buckfield; sisters-in-law, Simone Champagne, of Lewiston, and Carmen Godin, and husband, Roland, of Lewiston; and several cousins, nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother, Bernard, and a sister, Joanne Dubois.
