LEWISTON – E. Lucille Richards, 75, a resident of Clover Manor Nursing Home, died Thursday, Jan. 27.
“Lucille” was born in East Greenwich, R.I., on Aug. 22, 1929, the daughter of Charles W. and Blanche (Donelly) Rounds. She was educated in her hometown and graduated from North Kingstown High School.
Lucille married H. Frank Richards on June 12, 1947, and settled down in Lewiston in 1961.
She worked as a receptionist for Tri-County Mental Health until her retirement in 2002.
She volunteered her time to Central Maine Medical Center, worked in the gift shop, and was a member of the Women’s Hospital Association.
“Lucy was a devoted wife, a loving mother to her three children, a good friend, and a helpful neighbor. She lived life humbly, was generous in her acceptance of others, and was endlessly kind.”
She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Kim Stone and her husband, Raymond, of Worcester, Mass.; two sons, Mark Richards and his wife, Christina, of Maynard, Mass., and Gary Richards and his wife, Crigen, of Auburn; and her beloved dog, Tess.
She was predeceased by her husband, Frank, after being together for 54 years; and her sister, Shirley K. Rounds.
