LEWISTON – “Beloved Husband and Father” Kenneth James Ross, 61, of Auburn died unexpectedly at Maine Medical Center, Thursday, Jan. 27, with his family by his side.

He was born in Montreal, Canada, the son of James and Margaret McLean Ross. He graduated from Mt. Royal High School, and attended Sir George Williams University in Montreal. Ken met his wife Brenda Baril during one of many summers he spent in Maine as a young man. They were married on April 15, 1967.

Ken was dedicated to his career, and developed many long lasting personal and professional relationships as a successful vision care territory manager with Bausch & Lomb of Rochester, N.Y., for the last 25 years.

While at Bausch & Lomb, Ken received many awards for his outstanding performance and teamwork, and became a seven-time member of the coveted Pinnacle Club for top sales performers. Prior to Bausch & Lomb, Ken worked for Johnson & Johnson of Canada.

He loved to travel and enjoyed trips with his wife to Hawaii, Paris, Stockholm, Copenhagen and London, but most of all they enjoyed exploring the Maine coast where they spent many weekends in Camden and Bar Harbor. He found peace and tranquility hiking the serene trails in Acadia National Park.

During the winter months, Ken, an avid skier, looked forward to skiing with his son, Jason, at Sugarloaf. He also shared a passion for antique automobiles with his son, Jeff, especially 1940 Ford pickups, reminiscent of one he owned in his youth.

Ken will be remembered most for his optimism, civility, compassion for others, and commitment to his family. He was a loving father and husband who always placed family first.

He is survived by his loving wife, Brenda; two sons, Jeffrey Ross and his wife, Kelley, of Manchester, and Jason Ross of Brookline, Mass.; Judy Baril, sister-in-law, and Ralph Baril, father-in-law, of Auburn; a brother, Stephen and his wife, Karen Bass, of Syracuse, N.Y.; his mother, Margaret McLean of Quebec; a brother, Donald Ross and June Edamura, of Prince Edward Island; a brother, Terrence Ross of Quebec, and sister-in-law, Jean Ross, of Quebec; as well as seven nephews, Andrew, Jamie, Brian, Travis, Evan, Shane, and Christopher Ross, all of Quebec, Canada; and Polo, the family cat.

He was predeceased by his father, James Ross; mother-in-law, Mary Baril; and a niece, Andrea Ross.
