OTISFIELD – Harry A. MacLeod, 87, of Otisfield, died Wednesday, Jan. 12, at his home.

He was born at Lake Magentic, Quebec, Canada on Feb. 26, 1917, the son of Kenneth and Mable Stephenson MacLeod and was raised in Greenville.

He worked for Great Northern in Greenville as a machinist. He had also been employed as superintendent at Fairlawn Golf Course in Poland for 17 years. He had been a gunsmith for many years.

He faithfully served his country in the United States Army during World War II.

He married Lorraine Whelan on Jan. 14, 1984.

He was a life member of the VFW Post 9787 in South Paris, the Tranquil Lodge in Auburn, the American Legion Post in Oxford and the NRA. He was a Maine Guide and enjoyed fishing, hunting and golfing.

He is survived by his wife, Lorraine “Lori,” of Otisfield; a son, John MacLeod, of Auburn; two daughters, Heather MacLeod of Port Charlotte, Fla., and Laurie MacLeod of Old Town; a grandson, Timothy MacLeod; two sisters, Ruby King of Scarborough, and Myrtle Rooney of Buxton; and a brother, Ernest MacLeod of Fort Pierce, Fla.

He was predeceased by four brothers, William, Hazen, Lewis and Eddie; and a sister, Martha.
