MEXICO – Funeral services with full military honors for Vito M. DeFilipp of Mexico, were conducted Tuesday at St. Theresa Church, Mexico, with Father Angelo LeVasseur as celebrant. Organist was Wayne Petrie. Readings were given by grandchildren, Julianna and Jennifer. Eulogy and words of remembrance were given by son, Peter DeFilipp and grandchildren Michelle and Joel. Committal services were conducted by Deacon Rod Berger. Interment was in St. John Cemetery, Rumford. Pallbearers were Richard DeFilipp, Timothy DeFilipp, Peter DeFilipp, Joe Alex, Joel Alex and Mike Gallant. Military honors were provided by the VFW Post 3335, American Legion Post 10, AMVETS Post 33, and Sons of AMVETS Squadron 33 and included: Firing Squad: Honor Guard: Richard Dupont Eugene Pomerleau, AF, Roland Giguere Harvey Sabin, POW, Bob Welch Walter Tripp, Post, Dick Moreau Bob Roy, Main, David O. Smith Adrian Legere, Guard, Roaul Lylante Gerry Toothaker, Guard, Dick Smith, Joe Groomes. Taps, Dick Therrien (Recorded). Flag Presentation Don Simoneau, and Dick Therrien. A reception followed the services at the Sons of Italy Hall in Rumford. Arrangements were under the care of the Meader & Son Funeral Home, Rumford.
