AUGUSTA – Annie Bechard, 93, of Augusta, died Wednesday, June 2, at MaineGeneral Rehabilitation & Nursing Care at Glenridge Drive after a brief illness. She was born in Grand Falls, N.B., Canada on April 14, 1911 the daughter of Joseph Cote and Elizabeth (Michaud) Cote.

Prior to her retirement, and in addition to being a mother and homemeker, she was employed by Bates Manufacturing Company for 20 years.

She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, a former member of the Ladies of St. Anne Society, Cushnoc Senior Citizens and Happy Family Senior Citizens.

Survivors include son, Paul A. Bechard and wife, Winnie of Chelsea; daughter, Ann Mellor and husband, Robert of Augusta; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Blanche Bechard of Lewiston and several nieces and nephews.

Her husband, Henry A. Bechard, died in 1980. She was also preceded in death by a son, Gerald E. Bechard on July 11, 2000 and 17 brothers and sisters.
