SKOWHEGAN — Stephen Robert Gilblair, 67, of Skowhegan, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 16, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Stephen was born in Skowhegan on Dec. 26, 1949, a son of Robert Lewis and Arline Rita (Provost) Gilblair. He was educated in the local school system and graduated from Skowhegan High School, the Class of 1968.
After high school, Stephen enlisted in the United Stats Navy, proudly serving his country in Vietnam. Returning home he went to work at Dragon Cement as a mixer operator and was employed with them for 38 years. He enjoyed singing karaoke, dancing and going camping.
Stephen was predeceased by his parents; his first wife, Nancy L. Gilblair; as well as a niece and nephew, Tabitha and John Saucier.
He is survived by his sisters, Rebecca Gilblair of Skowhegan and Jane A. Gilblair of Florida; and his daughter, Tracy Grenier and her husband, Eddie of Poland. He is also survived by three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; many nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
