1945 – 2004

MILTON PLANTATION – George Bertrand Hopkins Jr., 58, of Milton Plantation, died unexpectedly at his residence on Wednesday, Feb. 4.

He was born in Rumford on Oct. 23, 1945, the son of George and Bessie (Libby) Hopkins. He served his country in the U.S. Army for over 20 years. After retiring from the military he worked as a long haul trucker and most recently at Burlington Homes in Oxford. He was an avid Patriots fan, enjoyed NASCAR and woodworking.

He is survived by one son, Glendon of Vancouver, Wash.; two daughters, Debra Hopkins of Aloha, Ore., and Anita Lester of Vancouver, Wash.; brothers, Charles of Waterford, Albert of Oxford, Earl of Bethel, Bernard of Rumford, Martin of Farmington and Claude of Lewiston; two sisters, Luann of Livermore and Joy Hopkins of Olympia, Wash.; six grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and his companion of 16 years, Priscilla Bedard of Milton Township.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Chester and Willard; and one son, Christopher.
