RUMFORD — The Rumford Public Library has announced activities for October.
Computers for Seniors: 10 a.m. to noon Mondays.
Science for Seniors with Anne Morin: 10 a.m. to noon Tuesdays.
Greg Westrich hiking presentation: 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19. Greg Westrich, author of five Maine hiking guides, will present a slide show and discussion on hikes in Maine and New Hampshire.
Medicare presentation: 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1, and 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18. Edward Hollum of United Healthcare will answer questions on Medicare plans.
“Being Mortal”: 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 26. The library will host Kyla Greenwood, volunteer coordinator at Beacon Hospice, for a special screening of “Being Mortal.” The PBS film is based on the best-selling book by Atul Gawande, MD. After the film, hospice specialists will lead a discussion of key themes and the implications.
Psychic, mystic presentation: Noon Saturday, Oct. 28. Local psychic and mystic Lisa Severy will return to the library. She will hold a group reading to help people understand their past and what is to come in the future.
Discover Girl Scouts: 4 to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 25. For those interested in learning more about becoming a Girl Scout member or leader.
