1924 – 2003

AUBURN – Ada C. Nelson, 79, her loving, motherly soul entered into the hands of our Lord with unconditional love, to again join her loving husband, daughter and other family members on Wednesday, Nov. 19.

She was born in Topsham, Jan. 15, 1924, the daughter of Irving M. and Agnas S. Cox Leighton. She was married May 23, 1947, to Richard H. Nelson who predeceased her April 27, 2002. She was a devout patriot, supporting veterans of many wars. She enjoyed playing cribbage with her family, quilting and preparing fine meals for her family.

She is survived by two sons, Jeffery R. Nelson of Turner and Michael Stephen Nelson of Reading, Pa.; three grandchildren, Jessica R. Samson, Shawn M. Nelson and Molly Dee Nelson; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Irving Leighton Jr. and his wife Edith of Gray and Lester Leighton and his wife Phyllis of Los Angeles, Calif.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Marsha Nelson-Miller; two sisters, Dorothy Leighton Cote and Mildred L. Turner; two brothers, Clarence and Donald Leighton.
