1934 – 2003
HEBRON – Hugh Henry McCafferty, 68, of Hebron, died at his home on Monday, Oct. 6.
He was born in Mexico on Dec. 6, 1934, the son of Hugh Henry and Yvonne Mary Richard McCafferty. He attended the Perkins School for the Blind in Watertown, Mass. and graduated from Mexico High School. He attended the University of Maine at Orono, completing a two-year agricultural program graduating in May of 1958. He married the former Alice Fronk on Feb. 1, 1958.
Hugh owned and ran, together with his wife of 45 years, their poultry, dairy and horse farm as well as greenhouses and storage in Hebron in his later years. He enjoyed his family, children, grandchildren, friends and animals. He always had time for a cup of coffee, a quick horse ride or just a catch up with people that were just going by. He was a loving, caring person who touched the lives of many people.
He is survived by his wife of Hebron; five children, Norman and his wife, Jodi, Dorson and his companion, Jocie Crowell, Carmella McCafferty, Marie Boucher and her husband, Tony, and Penny Latham and her husband, Ernie; 12 grandchildren; a brother, Lee and his wife, Nancy; a sister, Jane Nadeau and her husband, Robert; and several nieces and nephews.
