1931 – 2003

LEWISTON – Sadie S. Jackson, 72, of Weld, died Sunday, Oct. 5, 2003, at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston.

She was born Sept. 6, 1931, in Weld, on the family farm with her 15 brothers and sisters, a daughter of Cola and Esther (Conant) Storer.

She attended school in Weld and earned a teaching degree from UMO. She taught in East Millinocket and Saco schools and also worked at a hospital in Mass. and later at Bass Shoe.

On July 21, 1970, she married her husband, Robert Jackson of Weld, who survives her.

In addition, she is survived by three stepsons, Melvin Knox and his companion, Beth, Robert Jackson Jr. and his wife, Lisa, and Calvin Jackson and his companion, Johnna, all of Carthage; six grandchildren; four brothers, Albert Storer and his wife, Vivian, of Bath, Tim Storer of Weld, Joe Storer and his wife, Thelma, of Wilton and Orson Storer of Weld; four sisters, Ruth Small of Ariz., Lillian Niles of N.C., Erma Groves and her husband, Robert, of Skowhegan and Janice Richards of Farmington; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Reginald Day; two brothers, Granville and Boyd Storer; and sisters, Lurlene Fish, Laura McCrillis, Edith Gray, Maude Wellman and Jenny Storer.
