1911 – 2003
SOUTH PARIS – Leonora M. Jones, 91, of Morrill Road in Buckfield, died Wednesday, Sept. 17, at Market Square Health Care Center.
She was born in Sumner on Dec. 16, 1911, a daughter of Corry and Effie Abbott Bonney and attended Sumner schools.
She had worked at Paris Manufacturing and Withingtons in Minot for several years. She also worked at Beal Furniture in Portland and at the Buckfield schools in the kitchen for several years.
She was a member of the Womens Relief Corps for 53 years, a former member of the Buckfield Mothers Club, a member of the Buckfield Community Church Ladies Guild, and enjoyed crocheting, making afghans and also enjoyed eating out.
She lived in Buckfield since 1927 when she married Percy A. Jones. He died in 1969.
Surviving are four sons, William P. Sr of South Paris, Merton B. of Hartford, Shirley C. of Buckfield, and Richard D. also of Buckfield; 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and a lifelong friend, Mabel Dunn of Buckfield.
She was predeceased by four sisters, Helen Bonney, Elsie Farrar, Elva Farrar, and Bell Crockett; four brothers, Walter, Owen, Harold and Carl Bonney; and a great-grandson, Shane Wing.
