1948 – 2003

AUBURN – Andrew J. Harvey, 55, of 9 Winter St., Auburn, died Sunday morning, June 22, at his residence, after a long struggle with COPD.

Born in Augusta, Jan. 25, 1948, the son of Joseph A. and Leontine (Vigue) Harvey, he had been a resident of this community since 1973.

He attended Cony High School, graduating in the Class of 1966 and then graduated from Central Beauty School in 1967.

He worked in Augusta area salons as a hairstylist until 1981 and was then employed as a cosmetology instructor at Mr. Bernard’s School of Hair Fashion in Lewiston, where he remained until becoming sick in January of 2000.

Survivors include his domestic partner of 30 years, Francois (Dick) Bussiere; his mother, Leontine Igoe; three sisters, Elaine Mahoney, Linda Markham and Susie Conklin; one brother, Leonard Berg III; two aunts, Arlene Oconnor and Shirley Ziebart; one uncle, Joseph Vigue; and several nieces and nephews all from the Augusta area.
