1952 – 2003

MARLBOROUGH, Mass. – William G. Place, Sr. 50, formerly of South Dennis, Mass., died Saturday, May 3, in Lincoln County, Tenn., from injuries received in a truck accident. His wife of 29 years Sherry L. (Parmenter) Place also died in the accident.

He was born May 19, 1952, and raised in Marlborough, Mass., the son of the late Raymond Place and he moved to Cape Cod many years ago.

He was educated in Marlborough and was a U.S. Army veteran of Vietnam. He worked as a truck driver and safety instructor for Arrow Trucking Co., Tulsa, Okla. for 13 years and enjoyed boating, woodworking, motorcycles and cars and was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

Survivors include two sons, William G. Place, Jr. and his wife, Francine of Clinton, Mass., and Jason M. Place of South Paris; a daughter, Stacey L. Place of Bourne, Mass.; his mother, Rose Robideau and stepfather, James Robideau of Marlborough, Mass.; a brother, Richard Place of Clinton, Mass.; six sisters, Elaine Bonneau of Falmouth, Mass., Phyllis Bowser of Marlborough, Mass., Bette Britton of South Paris, Sandy Place of Northboro, Mass., Brenda Choiniere of Millbury, Mass., and Pattie Osgood of Hudson, Mass.; a granddaughter, Shelby Ann Place of Clinton, Mass.; and many nephews and nieces.
