1945 – 2003

DURHAM – Gary Thompson Evans, 58, of Davis Road, Durham passed away Thursday, April 17, at his residence.

He was born in Lynn, Mass., March 12, 1945, the son of William Thompson and Shirley (Foss) Evans. In 1964 he graduated from the Essex Agricultural High School in Essex, Mass. He served his country in the US Navy during the Vietnam War.

For several years he worked at the Dingley Press in Lisbon. Mr. Evans was an avid bass fisherman and had a fondness for the out of doors. He also enjoyed motorcycles, especially Harley’s. Mr. Evans loved all animals, especially his three special dogs, Lady, Moxie, and Bear.

He is survived by one daughter, Melinda Evans of Lewiston; one granddaughter, Hayley Chapman of Lewiston; his mother, Mrs. Shirley (Foss) Beverage; two sisters, Sharron Parsons, formerly of Lynn, Mass., Linda Soper and husband Robert of Lynn, Mass.; three brothers, Steven Evans and wife Patricia of Lynn, Mass., Glen Evans and wife Shirley of Lynn, Mass., Kevin Evans of Maine; several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his father.
