AUBURN – Shirley Plaisted, 90, died Saturday, April 24, at Clover Nursing Home.
She was born in Weld, Jan. 2, 1914. The daughter of Bertram and Violet Whitney Vining. She was educated in Weld schools.
She married Carl Plaisted, June 11, 1932. They were married 49 years until Carl passed away in 1981.
She worked for many years in various shoe shops in Lewiston and enjoyed knitting Afghans and making quilts. She lived on the Spring Rd. in Auburn until 1998 when she moved to Clover Manor.
She is survived by her children, Carl Plaisted Jr. and Joyce Gyles; three brothers, Hiram and Bernard, both of Weld and Quinton of Wilton; five grand children, five great-grand children and three great-great-grandchildren.
