LEWISTON – Chester Artel Riggs, 87, of Leeds died on May 4, at CMMC.

He was born on Oct. 9, 1916, in Leeds, the son of Charles and Ethel (Burgess) Riggs.

He married Rachel Pinkham on May 26, 1967. He worked for many years at Blue Rock as a truck driver. Previously, he had also worked for the State of Maine. He was a long time member of Horizon 55 and the First Assembly Of God Church in Lewiston. Also, he was a big Red Sox fan.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Rachel; sister, Helen LeHoux of Greene; brother, Charles of Watkinsville, Ga.

He was predeceased by brothers Ray, Phillip, Elmer, Carlton, and Donald; and sister, Thelma Roe.
