BETHEL – Doug Vail, 39, of Newry, died Wednesday, Sept. 15.
He was born in Norway, on Feb. 25, 1965, the son of Joan Bartlett and the late Douglas Vail. He was a talented songwriter, musician and artist, an avid New England sports fan, and was loved by all who knew him well. He had a generous heart and always placed others above himself. His loyalty and spirit proved him to be a true friend, brother and son.
Survivors include his mother, Joan Bartlett, of Newry; stepfather, David Bartlett, of Newry; a brother, Derek Vail, of Bethel and his companion, Shelly Corriveau; a sister, Chelsey Bartlett, of Norwood, Mass.; two nephews, Devin and Ryan Vail, of Bethel; a maternal grandmother, Zylpha Gibbs, of Bryant Pond; special aunts, uncles and cousins; close friends, Bob, Wilbur, Tim, and “Kasper” the dog.
He was predeceased by his father, Douglas Vail, of Newry.
