LEWISTON – Robert N. LeClair Sr., 75, of Lewiston, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 8, at his home after a courageous journey.

Born in Lewiston on Feb. 2, 1931, he was the son of Wilfred and Rose Anna Buteau LeClair. He was a graduate of Lewiston High School Class of 1951, where he played football on the state championship team.

On April 24, 1954, he married Jacqueline Labbe. He was inducted into the Lewiston-Auburn Hall of Fame. He was an employee of the Lewiston Sun Journal as a foreman for the press room, retiring after 29 years of service. Prior to working at the Sun Journal, he was employed at the Le Messager in Lewiston. He was an avid craftsman, who enjoyed woodworking and home projects. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Jacqueline, of Lewiston; three sons, Paul and wife, Terri LeClair, of Lewiston, Donald and wife, Linda, of Lewiston, Robert N. Jr and wife, Beth, of Plymouth, Mass.; a daughter, Anita LeClair-Davis of Lewiston; six grandchildren, Andrea, Eric, Michael and his fiancée, Georgina, Brandon and his fiancée, Rebecca, David and Robert; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents; two brothers, Lucien and Wilfred LeClair; and his son-in-law, Richard Davis.
