Parent night

LISBON — Lisbon High School’s annual sophomore student/parent night will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21, in the school library. The program assists parents and students in learning about what Lisbon High School offers in terms of teaching students about careers, how parents can help in this endeavor as well as future career activities and events students will be participating in over the next three years.

First Auburn

AUBURN — The First Auburn Seniors will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21, at the Hasty Community Center. President Angie Jipson will conduct the meeting.

A Halloween costume parade will precede lunch, which will be prepared by Lucien Marcous. Prizes will be awarded to three different winners. Meal tickets will be on sale, for $6, for the Thanksgiving dinner to be held on Wednesday, Nov. 18, at the Green Ladle in Lewiston.

Following lunch, bingo will be played.

At the Oct. 7 meeting, a successful food auction was held with auctioneer Pat Donahue. Fifty-one members were present. The attendance drawings were won by Pat Donahue and Nancy Roy; pot of gold, Gerry Brushwein, Anna Gavel and Nancy Roy.

VFW meeting

LEWISTON — The Longley Dionne VFW Post 9150 will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20, at the Multi-Purpose Center. All officers and members are encouraged to attend. Upcoming events include Buddy Poppies and the Veterans Day ceremony.

Eligible veterans wishing to become members of the VFW should contact Armand Bussiere at 688-2291.

Senior center

LITCHFIELD — The Litchfield Senior Center will celebrate their five-year anniversary with an open house from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Friday, Oct. 23. There
will be demonstration videos of activities, tours of the facility,
entertainment, displays of arts and crafts projects, prizes and
refreshments. The Senior Center is
located in the Litchfield Academy Building next to the Libby-Tozier
Elementary School on Academy Street, off Route 197.
