I disagree with Barbara Underwood’s letter (Oct. 8). Her definition of pro-life as anti-choice sounds distinctly unAmerican, and the use of pro-choice is the reason why abortion supporters’ use of that expression is false.
Underwood knows the word abortion means the expulsion of a fetus prematurely to bring death to a fetus, or the killing of a fetus. She also says, “Only people who are pro-choice have the option to choose life and death.”
The option of death is abortion. For that reason, the word pro-choice is used, as it sounds better than the word abortion, with all its connotations.
No one is against choice, but many oppose abortion.
