In a letter to the editor Aug. 5, Clifton Foster warns that an Obama presidency would return the nation to the supposedly bad old days of the Jimmy Carter administration.
While I think very few people would agree with that analysis (Carter wasn’t half the politician Obama is), the reply to it is quite simple. Would people rather live under another Carter (a man who long foresaw our current energy crisis and wanted to do something about it) or another Bush?
To me the second alternative is not just troubling, it’s downright terrifying.
And let’s not forget, Carter didn’t get us into any wars.
