As a resident of Maine, I wish to say that Laurent F. Gilbert Sr. will make a fine mayor for Lewiston. I have known him over the past five years in various capacities, but primarily as the associate director of the Maine Institute of Public Safety. I am impressed by his people and leadership skills.
He is diligent, attentive and conscientious. I have worked with him in the delivery of awareness training for law enforcement officers and social services providers, and found him to be inclusive in his decision-making process. He has played a major role in bringing civilian police academies to Lewiston and Portland that included new arrivals to Maine.
I am convinced if Mr. Gilbert is elected mayor of Lewiston, he will bring many good things to the community in particular, and the state in general.
