TEMPLE — A local man received head injuries Monday when he lost control of his ATV on Forest Hill Road and it rolled into a ditch and landed on him, Franklin County Chief Deputy Steven Lowell said.
Erald Farmer, 69, of Temple was driving an Arctic Cat four-wheeler with attached trailer when the accident occurred at about 12:03 p.m. at the intersection of Varnum Pond Road, Lowell said.
A citizen came to his rescue.
Farmer reported his brakes malfunctioned just prior to accident, Lowell said.
Farmer was taken by ambulance to Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington. He was treated and being released, an FMH spokeswoman said at 3:54 p.m.
Deputy Sandy Burke and Lt. Detective David St. Laurent responded, along with Temple Fire Department and a NorthStar EMS ambulance.
