I don’t understand the reports that people trust President Bush to protect them from terrorism when on Aug. 6, 2001, his daily intelligence briefing said that al-Qaida might try to attack inside the U.S., and Bush neither alerted the airlines to be watchful nor alerted the FAA. He was in Crawford, Texas, and it is reported he went out and cut brush.

Those of us in Maine who have seen pictures of two of the terrorists loading in Portland know that if forewarned they would have at least been detained.

The Sept. 11 commission found this information. Sen. Bob Graham wrote about this in “Intelligence Matters,” Maureen Dowd in “Bushworld” and the New York Times reported this.
