The people who support the tax cap have the right idea, but the wrong target.
To punish the municipal employees who provide the most direct service to the citizen is the wrong way to go.
We need to aim higher than the municipal budget and throw out the people in Augusta who created this disaster. The only way to get these people’s attention is to vote out all incumbents no matter who they are and send a new bunch to Augusta with the warning: They get one term to fix this or they’re out too.
Someone show me something positive Gov. Baldacci has done to fix this problem. Taxpayers of Maine should show their anger by punishing those who made this mess, not your local city and town workers who are there every day serving your needs.
