The recent letter from Fred Huntress, a forester and a lifetime member of Thorncrag Bird Sanctuary in Lewiston, detailing the woods, wildlife and birds was eloquent.
The very thought of removing the magnificent trees for a parking space is awakening. It would disrupt the wildlife and the appearance of the bird sanctuary forever. The space needs to be left alone.
I have visited Thorncrag many times; seeing and hearing the birds sing is always pleasant.
The board members should take another look at this beautiful space and decide no parking, please.
Throncrag is a jewel in the city of Lewiston and should remain as it is: pure, simple, perfect.
