AUBURN – Thirty-five young golfers from as far away as England competed Saturday at Prospect Hill Golf Course in the US Kids Golf World Championship Qualifier. Winners of each age category with qualifying scores have an opportunity to play in the World Championships at Pinehurst, N.C., later this summer.

A number of local golfers were among the top finishers, including: Boys 14, Tyler Houle, Lewiston (fourth), Cooper Easter, Auburn (fifth); Boys 13, Nick Belanger, Lewiston (third), Evan Bourassa, Lewiston (fourth); and Boys 11, Brendon Croteau, Poland (third).

The Prospect Hill youth golf program for boys and girls ages 6 to 17 will begin Monday, June 29 at 4 p.m. The program is for golfers of all abilities. Contact the pro shop at 782-9220 for more information.
