LEWISTON – Jeff Turcotte scored 3 touchdowns to lead the Lewiston Demons to a 20-6 victory over Mountain Valley in the Western Maine Seventh-Eighth-Grade Football League.
Turcotte scored from 8-yards out in the opening quarter. The play was set up by a nice diving catch by Justin Millette and a 16-yard fake punt by Caleb Johnson.
Turcotte scored on a 60-yard gallop in the fourth chapter. Joe McKinnon added the 2-point conversion. MV scored late in the game, but an onside kick was foiled when Turcotte picked up the ball and raced into the end zone.
The Demons were led defensively by tackles Jon Peters, Mike Nazaroff and Johnny Green. Matt Therrien made several open field tackles and Luke Cote intercepted a pass in the end zone.
The Demons aare now 2-2 and host Poland-Buckfield Wednesday at LAP.
