AUGUSTA – Once again this year there will be a fall archery season for turkey in Wildlife Management Districts 15, 16, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25 and 26. The season begins Saturday, Oct. 8, and continues through Saturday, Oct. 22. Last year, archers tagged 204 turkeys through the fall season.
Anyone with an archery license may purchase a wild turkey hunting permit from a license agent to hunt turkey during the fall wild turkey season. You may also purchase the permit online at www.mefishwildlife.com. Permit fees are $13 for Maine residents and $43 for non-residents. The bag limit is one wild turkey of either sex. Only bow and arrow may be used during fall turkey season.
