AUBURN – Meineke Car Care outlasted Coastal T’s 20-18 in playoff action Tuesday night. Coastal tied the game at 16-16 in the top of the 6th, but Meineke came back with 4 in the bottom of the frame. Coastal rallied for 2 more in the 7th but fell short. Skip Capone, Ryan Wilson and Tom Smith all collected 3 hits for the winners. John Langelier was the winning hurler. Tony Dubois and pitcher Ken Quinn were repeat hitters for Coastal.

ESM rolled past Hart Transportation 30-6, and Major Automotive knocked off Motor Home 9-5.

Two losers’ bracket games are slated tonight at Pettengill, Coastal T’s vs Motor Home at 6:00, and K&K Dirt Dawgs vs Main-Land at 7:30.

AUBURN – Wallbow’s Yard Care has captured the regular season pennant in the Auburn Co-Rec Softball League and will be the #1 seed for the playoffs which will be held Sunday, August 28. It’ll be double-elimination. At 8 a.m. at Pettengill, Swingas (8) will take on Superior Carriers (9) to determine the No. 8 seed for the playoffs.

Other opening round action: 9:30, Tribou, Dirigo Dominators (2) vs Androscoggin Home Care (7); 9:30, Lakeview-2, Androscoggin Title (4) vs JC Penney (5); 9:30, Pettengill, Wallbow (1) vs winner Swingas-Superior (8); 9:30, Lakeview-1, Rowe Ford (3) vs Margaret Murphy Home (6). Championship game will be played later in the day.

LEWISTON – In American League playoff action Tuesday, #4 SOCHS evened its best-of-3 series with New England Mortgage 15-9, and Fast Breaks (3) did the same against Ducharme Masonry B (2), 9-8. The deciding games were set to be played last night.

In opening playoff action in the National League Tuesday, BT Pallet (2) nipped Gipper’s (4) by a score of 9-8. Ducharme Masonry (3) outslugged Le National (2) 18-12. Game 2 of each series was slated to be played last night.
