GARDINER – Ayla Allen scored six goals to lead Mountain Valley to a 14-12 win over Gardiner in girls’ lacrosse Thursday.
The Falcons (5-6) built an 8-4 lead at the half and held off the Tigers’ rally.
Emily Child added two goals and two assists while Shainna Mills and Caitlin O’Connell each had two goals. Gardiner (4-6) was led by Emily Kozma with four goals.
Mountain Valley goalie Krista Lee had 23 saves, including 16 in the first half. Gardiner outshot the Falcons 35-29.
Messalonskee 11, Lewiston 9
OAKLAND – Miranda Tinsman broke open the game with her seven goals as Messalonskee escaped with an 11-9 victory over stubborn Lewiston in a girls’ lacrosse game Thursday.
The Blue Devils (4-6) fought back and scored two goals in the last minute of play, but the Eagles held on to win the game.
For Lewiston, Kristin Lacasse and Shelby Turcotte led the way with three goals each.
In the first half, the Eagles held a 3-2 lead before they opened up on Lewiston in the second half.
Mt. Ararat 15, Oxford Hills 6
SOUTH PARIS – Sisters Meghan and Whitney Dano teamed up to score four goals each as Mt. Ararat overwhelmed Oxford Hills to a 15-6 victory in a girls’ lacrosse game Thursday.
The Eagles (9-2) didn’t waste anytime building a 9-2 lead in the first half. Mt. Ararat’s Haley Michaud also scored four goals and teammate Heather Bolduc added two.
For the Vikings (5-5), Lauren Brett led the offense with four goals. Teammates Heather Knights scored the other two goals.
