SOUTH PARIS – Michelle Rancourt and Lauren Brett scored goals for their respective teams Thursday as Lewiston and Oxford Hills battled to a 1-1 tie in late-season girls’ soccer action.

Brett gave the Vikings (1-11-1) a 1-0 advantage with 18:04 left in the first half when she converted a pass from Heather Knights. The Blue Devils (4-7-2) answered when Rancourt tallied midway through the second frame.

Katie Cobb made five saves for Lewiston, while Brianna Martin turned back eight shots for Oxford Hills.

Winthrop 4, Monmouth 0

WINTHROP – Four different Winthrop players scored and Lindsey Gordon recorded a pair of assists as the Ramblers closed out their MVC schedule with a 4-0 win over visiting Monmouth on Thursday.

Karen Rice, Katherine Fortier, Elaine Theriault and Michelle Lough buried goals for the Ramblers (9-4-1), and Anna Smithgall stopped seven to earn the shutout.

Kelsie Hilton stopped 17 shots in the loss for the Mustangs (1-11-2).

Women’s soccer

St. Joe’s 2, UMF 0

STANDISH – Katie Jordan scored a goal and added an assist as St. Joseph’s pulled out a 2-0 victory over the University of Maine at Farmingon in women’s soccer action Thursday.

Jordan put the Monks (8-4-1) on the board early when she netted the eventual game-winner on a penalty shot.

Fourteen minutes into the second half, Mikayla Call notched her team-leading 11th goal of the season on a breakaway set up by a pass from Jordan.

Katye Mayo needed only two saves to register her 12th career shutout. McKell Barnes turned back two shots in net for the Beavers (6-5).
