LEAVITT – Josh Emery belted a two-run homer with one out in the bottom of the sixth to lead Andy Valley in a 7-5 upset win over Bessey Motors.
Jake Marceau went the distance for Andy Valley (3-13). He fanned five, kept Bessey scoreless for the final three innings and set the table for Emery with a double in the sixth inning.
Dan Millett hit a solo home run for Bessey and Ryan Yates chipped in with a double. Emery and Marceau each tallied two hits for Andy Valley.
Nate DuBois went six innings and took the loss.
Brunswick 4, New Auburn 3
BRUNSWICK – Dillon Chandler knocked in the game-winning run the the bottom of the seventh as Brunswick edged New Auburn, 4-3.
Trailing 3-2 in the final frame, David Longley beat a close play at first base to start the rally; advanced to second on a sacrifice and scored on Nick Guerrette’s single. New Auburn starter Corey LaRue walked the next two batters to load the bases.
Mike Muise came in to face Chandler and had him behind 0-2 before Chandler ripped a grounder down the third base line to seal the win.
Devin Flynn had a pair of hits, including a triple for New Auburn and Bill Brewster added a single and a double. Muise and Ryan Arnold each knocked in a run for New Auburn (9-6).
Gayton 6, N. Oxford County 3
RUMFORD – Alex Wong belted a two-tun home run in the top of the seventh to add some insurance as Gayton escaped Rumford with a 6-3 win over Northern Oxford County in American Legion baseball action Tuesday.
Eddie West went the distance on the mound for Gayton (13-3), and Greg Labonte added a double and three total hits to the 10-hit offensive attack.
Jon Smith and Matt Laubauskas shared pitching duties for Northern Oxford (7-8). Justin Staires and Ryan Laubauskas each doubled for the home team, while Matt Laubauskas and Staires ended up with three hits each.
Monmouth 15, Madison 0
WINTHROP – Ethan Guerrette had four hits, including two doubles, and two RBIs and Dave Ricker had two hits and four RBIs to lead Monmouth in a 15-0 drubbing of Madison in Zone 2 Legion action.
Tim Levesque tallied four hits for Monmouth (13-2) while Mike Brennan, Forrest Dwyer and Brett Turcotte each contributed with two apiece.
Starter Justin Denbow combined for a three-hitter with Jake Steele and Cameron Labrecque.
Scott Honeywell took the loss for Madison (7-8).
