Justin Staires, Mountain Valley
Some guys make our work easy. This is Staires’ second turn with the award, although you could have made a case for him in at least four or five games this fall. The Falcons’ junior halfback/quarterback/kick returner/defensive back rushed for 301 yards – averaging more than 20 a pop – and six touchdowns Friday night. Staires added a seventh score on a 50-yard fumble return in Mountain Valley’s 49-12 rout of York (a possible playoff opponent, by the way). Staires has an arm or legs in 27 Mountain Valley TDs this season.

Best part about Cape-MV is that we get to see it twice in the next three weeks.

Mustangs won’t make it easy for their semifinal opponent, either, if they get that far.
