LEWISTON — Two men and a juvenile were arrested Monday in connection with stabbings Saturday night that landed two men in intensive care at a local hospital.
Sidney Lord, 19, of 2 Toll St., was charged shortly after midnight Sunday with elevated aggravated assault. Clayton Chapman, 20, of 11 Horton St., was charged at 12:30 p.m. Monday with elevated aggravated assault, criminal mischief and violation of a protection order. A juvenile was also arrested in connection with the case, but police would not release the name or age.
Detective Roland Godbout of the Lewiston Police Department declined to release many details about the case, which remains under investigation. He said the incident occurred around 11:30 p.m. Saturday at the corner of Howe and Walnut streets. He said the three suspects and two victims all knew each other.
“They were all familiar with each other,” Godbout said. “They all knew each other and didn’t have good feelings toward one another.”
Godbout was not sure about the ages of the victims, but said that one is in their 20s and the other in their 30s. Both victims remained in the intensive care unit of an area hospital as of Monday, and the younger of the two underwent surgery Monday afternoon, Godbout said.
