NEWCASTLE – Kevin LaPlante planted the ball into the back of the net with 10:07 remaining in regulation as Oak Hill clipped Lincoln Academy 1-0 in KVAC boys’ soccer action Saturday.

Kory Vanek made 10 saves for Oak Hill (3-6-1), while Kevin Conant turned away six for the Eagles (6-2-1) in the losing effort.

Monmouth 3, Hall-Dale 2

FARMINGDALE – An own goal by Hall-Dale allowed Monmouth to come from behind to win, 3-2.

Mike Brassard was credited with the goal for Monmouth, which broke a 2-2 halftime tie. Max Grover and Devin Roberts had the other goals for the Mustangs. Oryan Lahti scored both goals for Hall-Dale (3-7-1).

Dylan Reny was outstanding in net for Monmouth, collecting 19 saves. Paul Koenig turned aside 10 shots for Hall-Dale.

Mt. Blue 4, Lawrence 1

FAIRFIELD – Devin Ferriera scored two goals and assisted on a pair to help Mt. Blue to a 4-1 win over Lawrence.

The Cougars (6-3-2) built a 4-0 lead before Evan Bois’ unassisted score in the second half broke the ice for the Bulldogs. Kory McPhail made nine saves in a losing effort. Ben Russell and Brad Dority also connected for goals in the win.
