NEW LONDON, Conn. – Terence O’Connell scored on a direct kick from 25 yards out in the second overtime to lift Bates to a 2-1 victory over Connecticut College in collegiate men’s soccer action.
The Bobcats (2-1-1) rallied from a 1-0 second half deficit to notch the win.
The Camels (2-3) took a 1-0 lead just 7:39 into the second half. Win Robinson controlled a clearing pass and served the ball for Matt Hula, who lofted one over the head of the goalie for the score.
But Bates rallied with the equalizer and ended the game with O’Connell’s goal.
Aaron Schleicher made three saves in net for Bates, while Ted Lane turned away seven shots for the Camels.
